HAESF Scholarships in the U.S.
The Hungarian-American Enterprise Scholarship Fund (HAESF) is offering scholarships in four program categories to students and professionals including but not limited to the field of Medicine and Pharmacology.
Professional Internship Program is providing a full scholarship of $30,000 USD to medical students and PhD students for up to 12 months in the U.S. with the following important conditions:
Medical Research: those wishing to conduct medical research in their respective PhD programs need to apply directly to HAESF in the Professional Internship Program. Based on U.S. visa regulations, students must have active student status (either MD or PhD) in order to be eligible. HAESF provides full funding, including return airfare, visa fees, generous monthly stipend and full health insurance. Applicants must keep in mind this program entails medical research and no clinical practice, with the exception of potentially shadowing supervising medical doctors or researchers. Duration of program: min. 6 - max 12 months.
Clinical Rotation: those wishing to do clinical rotation need to apply into the Senior Medical Program of the Hungarian Medical Association of America first for a placement at SUNY Buffalo School of Medical and Biomedical Sciences or at SUNY Syracuse Upstate Medical University. Students in their 6th year studies can earn credit for this program as a senior elective course. Due to increased medical liability insurance costs, one rotation is max. 3 months long. Senior Leaders and Scholars Fellowship is providing a full scholarship of $60,000 USD to medical professionals for up to 12 months in the U.S. to conduct research or carry out projects with American partners (business, medical hospital, university, etc.). HAESF provides full funding, including return airfare, visa fees, generous monthly stipend and full health insurance. Applicants must secure their own Host Organization in the U.S. and then apply for funding to HAESF. Application Deadline: October 15 / April 1 annually.
Executive Education Program is providing a full scholarship to medical professionals to attend the executive courses of Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy’s School of Government. School is offering courses in R&D, innovation and alike, as well as programs in management. HAESF provides full tuition, return airfare and stipend for the duration of the program. Available courses are listed on HAESF’s website. Application Deadline: October 15 / March 15 annually.
Graduate Scholarship Program is providing partial funding of $25,000 USD per year for up to 3 years maximum to graduates in order to pursue terminal designation degrees that lead to professional occupations, or for professional, post-graduate, non-degree, certificate-granting programs at accredited American universities. Application Deadline: April 15 annually.
